At this concert, Nordkraft Big Band celebrates the talents, the good ideas and the musical professionalism that emanate from North Jutland.

Nordkraft Big Band has invited students from MGK-Nord and the Jutland Academy of Music in Aalborg to write new music for the big band.

“Aalborg’s music environment is strong and many music students are focused on developing their own material. We would like to support and help develop this, as well as give some selected students a springboard into the music world, with an offer of cooperation with the region’s professional big band.

We have received a lot of material from the students and have now selected five compositions that we are working on together. The music will be premiered at this concert, where we will also present original music written for Nordkraft Big Band by Remy Le Boeuf, Vladimir Nikolov and some of the big band’s own musicians”.

Participants: Nordkraft Big Band, Vladimir Nikolov + students from MGK and DJM Aalborg.

The concert is part of the Big Band Nights project, which focuses on presenting big band and jazz music to young generations. Therefore, there is free admission or discounted tickets for young people and students.

The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Aalborg Municipality, the Danish Arts Foundation and the Spar Nord Foundation.
